Job Title: Senior Manager (Architect/Interior) HKUST Guangzhou CampusJob ID: 4744Job Posting DetailsThe incumbent will lead and manage the consultants on the design program from initial stage to production stage, including design, quality control and materials to fulfill HKUST's requirements for the University campus in Guangzhou, i.e. HKUST (GZ). The appointee will be required to station and work in the Mainland, initially in Nansha, with occasional business travelling to Clear Water Bay Campus as required.Job Dutiesa. Liaise and coordinate with consultants, in-house faculties to work from master plan, feasibility design, schematic design, detailed development stage to completion of campus to ensure maximum utilization of land;b. Monitor and supervise all project phases in respect of design progress to ensure project completion on time and within budget;c. Motivate and inspire the design consultant teams, local design institutes and contractors involved in the projects;d. Review deliverables in feasibility studies, design drawing, specifications, tender documents, construction drawings and construction method statement;e. Implement the concept of smart campus, sustainability design, BIM, LEED, etc. in the project;f. Review with design consultants, and local design institutes of the contractors' technical submissions and site works to ensure compliance with sound architectural principles, the required quality and safety standards;g. Monitor the progress of the works, maintain comprehensive records and prepare thorough progress reports.Requirementsa. A bachelor's degree or above in Architecture or related discipline; professional qualification (HKIA, BIM) is desirable; higher qualification in project management or business management is preferred;b. A minimum of 12 years' relevant working experience in design management of building and infrastructure development and on-site co-ordination of building projects; experience in design and construction of R&D offices, university/institutional buildings, hospital, laboratory is preferred;c. Hand on design experience in managing international design consultants/local design institutes/contractors of large scale projects;d. Knowledge of statutory requirements and submission/inspection procedures in the Mainland;e. Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills, problem solving skills, analytical skills and open-minded;f. Good computer literacy including Words, Excel, Powerpoint; skills in Microstation, AutoCAD, V-Ray, Revit / BIM, etc.;g. High proficiency in English and Chinese (Putonghua) and be able to read and write in simplified Chinese.This is a Mainland appointment and the appointee will be offered a contract by HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the local labor laws and regulations.
